The Cup Cake comes into its own as a Dessert

The mania for Cupcakes has taken over. Now they are no longer just minicakes full of gooey chocolate and fluffy iceing. They have come into their own as desserts that go well with port wine or sweet italian “passito” wine.

This selection is taken from an American web site Ming  is a Yale art alum currently at Harvard, and was featured in the NYTimes holiday cookie contest  last year.

Banana Cupcake with Maple syrup sugar icing.
Accompany with a glass of “Passito” wine

Gingerbread Cupcake with fluffy cream cheese and marshmallow filling, cinnamon, molasses and sour cream.
Accompany with

Guinness Chocolate Cupcake with Cream Cheese Frosting.
Accompany with a glass of guiness beer in order to enjoy the full flavour of this exceptional combination.

Chocolate Coffee Cupcake with Baileys Irish Cream Frosting.
Try accompanying this dessert with either a glass of  Baileys on ice in Summer or perhaps a Baileys hot coffee in winter.
