Two suggestions for a Floral Wedding Cake a little out of the ordinary, both of which are sure to leave your guests staring with admiration as you and your husband cut these magnificent works of art.

Meringue Bouquet Wedding Cake

Any cake frosted in buttercream can be decorated with crisp meringue flowers in shades of white. On this cake, some flowers are piped in one piece and baked in the oven, while others are piped petal by petal, baked, assembled with more meringue, and baked again; the overall effect is that of a heavily embroidered bodice. The finished flowers, which are easy to cut through, add a delicious crunch to each slice.

Rose Petal Wedding Cake

A pristine white cake, piped with tiny beads around each tier, is sprinkled with a flutter of red rose petals. Obviously the rose petals can be matched to the colour of the Bride’s Bouquet

    Two layers of my wedding cake was made of styrofoam, and the top layer was real. No one knew, and it saved money.
